Born in Lebanon in 1955, Violette Daguerre is living in France since 1976 as a direct consequence of the civil war which ravaged her country Lebanon. She obtained a doctorate at Sorbonne University in social psychology in 1984 and a Master in clinical psychology and pathology in 1991.
At the same time she taught this discipline for several years at the Higher Institute of Social Intervention in Marne la Vallee and University of Evry, near Paris, she was very active in the human rights International Movement and for more than 20 years she had consistently defended, especially since the establishment of the Arab Commission for Human Rights in 1998 and she maintain the presidency since 2001.
Maronite Christian family refuses early what she calls the communitarian fever and will continue to fight for a Lebanon free of this scourge, writing her first book about sectarianism in the country, followed by one of the first reports the battle of the civil marriage has been shaken and continues without much success.
